Oct. 15 Update

We will be out of class for a few weeks, but we will still be following Easy Peasy as usual. If you’ve had trouble learning vocabulary thus far, I recommend creating flash cards and maybe practicing with your buddy. Call them!

If you have no power, perhaps a trip to the library would help or just catch up whenever you can. ❤️

Schedule:
Week of Oct 15-19: Days 30 thru 35

Oct 22: Day 36
Oct 23-26: Days 37 thru 41 (Prepare a presentation about your school life—“Vida Escolar”—due Nov 1)

Oct 29: Day 42
Oct 30: Day 43 (conversation due in class Nov 1)

Due in our next class on November 1:
1. Vida Escolar presentation

2. Day 43 conversation.

3. We will have a brief vocabulary quiz on all new vocabulary you are learning Day 30 and after.

I will be giving grades after Nov 1 class based on the work up to that point for those that want a grade.

Praying you all recover well from this storm and that the Lord continues to help you learn. I am SO enjoying this class with you. I miss you all!!!

Buddy Assignments due Oct. 11

Buddies are to contact each other at any point this week before class. You are to pick 3 questions each for a total of six questions and practice asking each other the questions and answering the questions.

In class on Thursday Oct. 11, you will ask each other the questions you chose in front of the class.

The point of this exercise is to review the interrogative questions you’ve learned and reinforce what you’ve learned by using them in real life.

Day 26: Cultura

We did Day 25 in class, but you can watch the video on Day 25 to reinforce what we learned.
Today is Day 26. You should be watching the culture video on the tango. Next week you are working on a writing assignment describing yourself in 5 sentences. Just follow the instructions. If you have any questions about the assignment after you read the instructions, let me know. YOU WILL READ YOUR ASSIGNMENT OUT LOUD TO THE CLASS NEXT WEEK FOR POINTS!!! Keep studying the other vocabulary words we’ve learned so far so you don’t forget them.

We found this video to be adorable. Tango is a famous Spanish dance popular in Argentina.

Day 16-17: Vocabulario – Los Adjetivos y Nacionalidades Los Adjetivos y Los Nรบmeros

Today is Day 17. You should have a long list of vocabulary words copied into your notebook or on flashcards—whatever helps you learn best. This applies to Days 18 & 19 for definite and indefinite articles.

This week, there will have a very brief quiz on the new words in Days 16-19. Study and be ready! We will also go over last week’s quiz (which was more like a test, but that’s okay). This is a chance for anyone who didn’t do as well as they would have liked to on last week’s quiz to bring their grade up. It will be an oral quiz to allow those of us who work better orally to shine๐ŸŒž

We will skip Days 20-24.
(I think I can hear the roar of 16 people celebrating ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ•บ๐Ÿป๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽˆ

Looking ahead, there will be NO CLASS OCTOBER 18 & 25 during which you will be working with a buddy online or over the phone on Days 30-44–helping eachother study, practicing with eachother, etc.

Nov 1: Quiz#3 and two assignments from Days 37-41 and Day 43 are also due.

First Quarter Grades will be available Nov 8.

Again, I want to congratulate you brave people who are learning this new language for the first time!!! I know this has been a challenge and you have risen to that challenge ๐Ÿ…
Remember, you goal is to LEARN SPANISH so you can USE IT in the future for whatever circumstance God might have in store for you. See you Thursday. ๐Ÿ’Œ
